International Vintage Car Rally

The traditional annual vintage car rally reaches its 67th edition on April 6, 2025, bringing together once again the finest selection of classic vehicles.

The Rally is a true spectacle. As well as being a fun and charming event, it is unique in the world. The Barcelona–Sitges International Vintage Car Rally is the largest event for historic vehicles in Southern Europe, and with over 50 years of tradition and history, it is the second oldest in the world after the London–Brighton Rally. It attracts thousands of participants and spectators.

The International Rally between Barcelona and Sitges has been an iconic event in Spanish motorsport since its first edition in 1959. Over the decades, it has evolved and adapted to changes in the automotive world and popular culture. But what remains constant is that the rally is a celebration of the love for classic cars and a passion for automotive history.

The true stars of the event are undoubtedly the cars, all manufactured between 1903 and 1928, as well as their elegantly dressed companions in period attire. The participating vehicles are classified into two categories: “Época” (built before 1921) and “Vintage” (built between 1921 and 1928).

The Rally has been declared an Event of National Tourist Interest and will feature around one hundred vehicles. As every year, it captures the attention of thousands of enthusiasts and onlookers along the route, who come to witness these authentic automotive gems, beautifully restored to their original condition with occupants in era-appropriate clothing.

The rally kicks off at Barcelona’s City Hall square around 11 a.m. on Sunday. After a departure ceremony, the nearly 40 km journey begins, passing through 8 municipalities in the metropolitan area: L’Hospitalet, Cornellà, Sant Boi, Viladecans, Gavà, and Castelldefels. The final stretch runs along the Garraf coast until reaching Sitges’ seafront promenade around 1 p.m. (for the first arrivals). The cars remain on display until approximately 6 p.m.

In the afternoon, awards are presented, not for speed or order of arrival, but for the five best cars in each category based on presentation, age, maintenance, and originality, as well as to the best-dressed participants according to the era represented.

It is a true privilege to witness these rolling works of art and collectibles from the terrace of Hotel Calipolis. Without a doubt, the Rally is much more than a sporting event—it is a glamorous, classic spectacle. And above all, the real soul of the event lies with its drivers and participants.

Get ready and come to Sitges!
