    Corporate Social Responsibility

    1. Environment (contribution to sustainable development)

    At Hotel Calipolis we have a firm commitment to the preservation of the environment.
    As part of the continuous process of improvement of reduction of CO2 emissions and preservation of natural resources, actions are carried out in different areas:

    • Water management:
    With the objectives of reducing water consumption and avoiding waste, specific faucets have been installed and the need to avoid wastefulness with recommendations written in several languages for customers in all bathrooms is remembered.

    • Reduction of electricity consumption:
    Thanks to the use of new technologies (LED) in lighting and investments made in machinery with high energy efficiency, in the last five years the reduction in electricity consumption per room has been achieved by 50%.

    • Waste management:
    All waste generated by the hotel is duly treated separately for its best classification by the municipal collection company.

    • Ecological cleaning materials:
    In the cleaning of rooms, restaurant, kitchen, rooms and common areas, biodegradable materials are used with a neutral effect on the environment.

    • Investments:
    An important part of the investments made during the last decade has been focused on improving energy efficiency and reducing consumption:

    o Use of LEDs in most spaces.
    o Renovation of climate machinery. 2015
    o Replacement of refrigerators and freezers.2016
    o Air conditioning installations from 2015 to the present.

    • Additional actions
    o Reduction of electricity and fuel consumption for hot water.
    o Use of stationery with no or minimal contribution of Chlorine.

    2. Security
    Any decision seeks to guarantee the safety of workers, customers, users and suppliers.

    • Food.

    All our workers in the kitchen and living room have a food handler's card and receive continuous updating of the training obtained in this regard.

    We indicate which foods may contain allergens and of what type. Additionally we have menus suitable for different types of allergy.

    • Amenities.

    Concerned about the effects of our customers and employees, all the gels and soaps offered in our amenities and available in the bathrooms are made with natural and hypoallergenic components.

    • Safety at work.

    We apply course and specific training measures to maintain the highest safety at work and investment in safety measures.

    • Fire regulations.

    The hotel follows a program of maintenance and updating of the facilities to the regulations of fire protection that guarantee maximum security for employees and customers.

    3. Social Action

    MF ROVIRALTA FOUNDATION
    An important part (practically half, 50%) of the benefits generated by the Hotel Calipolis, revert to the Maria Francisca Foundation of ROVIRALTA that dedicates the funds generated to charitable purposes in Spain and countries in need around the world.

    FUNDACIÓN PATRICIA and CARLOS MULLER
    Another not inconsiderable part of the benefits are collected by the PATRICIA and CARLOS MULLER FOUNDATION, which aims to provide economic assistance to elderly people in precarious situations or in need and to young people who do not have the resources to train them. Additionally, it seeks to collaborate with hospitals and similar-purpose charities.

    FORMACIÓ i TREBALL FOUNDATION
    The hotel hires the laundry service to the Formació i Treball foundation, whose mission is to facilitate access to the labor market for people at risk of social exclusion

    COLLABORATION AGREEMENTS
    The Hotel Calipolis has valid collaboration agreements with the Exit Foundation for the employment of young people at risk of social exclusion through the Coach Project and with the Fundació Formació i Treball de Cáritas, for the employment of young people through internships in the establishment itself.

    4. Employees
    • Continuous training.
    We consider it a priority that our workers are up to date and aware of the new trends, regulations, procedures and processes. For this, they receive continuous training through courses in such specific areas as: office automation, electrical installations, languages, knowledge of the territory, marketing of tourism products, marketing benefits and social networks in addition to mandatory courses in food handling, treatments water and waste and others.

    • Equality.
    From the Hotel Calipolis we are concerned with giving equal opportunities to all workers, from our selection processes to our models of promotion and professional development.

    • Internship program.
    The experience is a grade and we are always willing to share it.

    5. Compliance

    ITSA HOTEL CALIPOLIS, S.A. has approved a set of procedures and good practices adopted by organizations to identify and classify the operational and legal risks they face and establish internal mechanisms for prevention, management, control and response to them, with special emphasis on the six criminal types that could be committed, with less difficulty.

    Complementing the Compliance Manual there is a whistleblower channel that makes available to employees, suppliers and customers the email address compliance@hotelcalipolis.com so they can report any illegal or unethical behavior that has taken place in the company.
